We depend upon the community of readers to support this effort to bring the issue of solitary confinement in the United States out of the shadows and into the public square. You can support Solitary Watch in both monetary and non-monetary ways.
Although it is largely a volunteer effort, Solitary Watch News needs modest funding to keep it going and growing. We welcome donations of any amount. Solitary Watch is a project of the Community Futures Collective, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, which serves as its fiscal sponsor for all grants and donations. Donations to the Community Futures Collective are tax-deductible. To donate:
> Send a check made out to the Community Futures Collective, designated for Solitary Watch: Attn. Marina Drummer, Community Futures Collective, 221 Idora Avenue, Vallejo, CA 94591.
> Make a secure online donation through GuideStar’s Network for Good. Click here to go the Community Futures Collective page, then click on “Donate Now” and write ”Solitary Watch” in the ”Designation” field.
Solitary Watch is a collaborative endeavor. We also also encourage readers to support the site in the following ways:

We are also grateful to Marina Drummer of the Community Futures Collective for her widsom and unflagging support; to Mother Jones for supporting James Ridgeway’s work on solitary confinement; and to the guest authors who have lent their voices to this effort. Special acknowledgment is made of the incarcerated persons who have written to inform us about conditions in solitary, sometimes at considerable risk of retaliation.
